 Number talks are discussions that focus on student solutions for a single, carefully chosen numeracy problem. Students share their different mental math processes verbally as the teacher records their thinking visually on the whiteboard. Other students may question, critique, or build on the strategies that are shared. This activity assists student sot become creative and flexible problem solvers.
