Mooroopna North Primary School is situated approximately 10km north of Mooroopna on Ardmona Road, which links Echuca Road and the Midland Highway. The school was opened on 12th July 1875.
The school and the area are steeped in history with family and community involvement spanning many generations. The school is the only remaining building of the early township. The school community has chosen to keep the natural bushland as part of the playground.
The student population is drawn from the town of Mooroopna and the surrounding farming community. Our current enrolment is 36 students.
Nearby schools, Undera, Ardmona, Harston and Dhurringile join with us to form the Midland Rural Schools Cluster. Our Cluster provides opportunities for joint programs, cultural activities, shared resources and wider community involvement for the children and allows staff to interact on a professional basis ensuring best practice is employed across the five schools.
A bus service is provided daily from four locations in Mooroopna and one in Shepparton.
Employment varies from those families directly engaged in agriculture to a diverse range of occupations offered in the surrounding areas of the Greater City of Shepparton.
Currently we operate two multi age classrooms. A teacher’s Aide is employed for three days a week and works with children who have special needs as well as general curriculum delivery for all.
Each year our school community has the opportunity to participate in a whole school excursion. A range of social events occur throughout the year. The students are involved in an annual one week swimming block, the athletics carnival and a variety of other incursions and excursions.
Our active School Council strives at all times to improve learning outcomes and conditions for all students. This is evident with significant expenditure being allocated to Literacy, Numeracy and Technology. Each room has an interactive T.V, laptop computers and iPads which assist curriculum delivery.
Mooroopna North Primary School values and prides itself on a strong home school partnership which aims at providing our students with a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment.
